Nigeria Wins P&ID Appeal
*As court affirms project procured with bribe money

It was another victory song for Nigeria in a London court on Thursday, as it won the $11bn bill damage appeal case filed by the Process & Industrial Development Limited Gas company, P&ID.
Reuters reports that the bill charge, brought against Nigeria over the butched gas processing project in Cross River state, was struck out by the court, which affirmed that the project was procured with a bribe paid to Nigerian oil ministry officials.
According to Judge Robin Knowles, P&ID failed to disclose that bribery was involved when it went to arbitration against Nigeria.
He therefore ruled that the damages should be nullified with immediate effect while also dismissing P&ID’s claim to return the case to arbitration.
The court denied P&ID’s demand for permission to appeal, thereby terminating the case on the ground that the company cannot request authorization from the Court of Appeal
