Okey Bakassi Becomes Traditional Ruler

One of Nigeria's most popular stand up comedians and actor, Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, better known as Okey Bakassi, has ascended the traditional of his community, Ahiazu, Mbaise council area of Imo state.
With his newest designation, the 55 year-old entertainer becomes the new monarch of Umuihuocha Obohia Autonomous Community as His Royal Highness, Eze Okechukwu Onyegbule, OKWE II of Umuihuocha Obohia.
Bakassi thus become the second monarch of the community, in a roll, to bear the OKWE title, following his immediate predecessor, OKWE I, effectively starting a new chapter as he leads his people in line with traditional requirements.
He made the development known via his verified social media handle, where he wrote, "NEXT LEVEL……Service to Community,”
Meanwhile, felicitations have since been pouring in from the entertainment community led the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.
In its message, the guild, through its President, Chief Emeka Rollas, congratulated the new monarch on behalf of its members, wishing him the best of time as he assumes his new roles.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, National Executive, Congress and the entire members of Actors Guild of Nigeria we congratulate one of the members of our Board Trustees who was just crowned the king of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State. CONGRATULATIONS
