PDP-YGC to opposition coalition: You Have What It Takes to Defeat Tinubu, APC

A Pro Peoples Democratic Party pressure group, the PDP - Young Generation Caucus has admonished the opposition groups pushing for a coalition to defeat the All Progressives Congress’ President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, saying the coalition has what it takes to defeat the ruling party.
The chairman Board of Trustees of the group, Chief Rex Onyia Alexandra in an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Monday, said he believed the coalition would succeed with 70 per cent possibility of success if the personalities involved are keen on the objective.
According to Onyia, the major element needed is for managers of the coalition to jettison personal ambitions and make survival of Nigeria’s democracy the central goal of their agitations.
“I strongly believe that the coalition would have 70 per cent of success if the managers are focused, undeterred, honest with each other and establish a common code that it is about Nigeria , it is beyond an individual’s ambition.
“My satisfaction, however, is that the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar made this frantic call for the opposition to come together as it remains the only way to defeat the failed Tinubu’s government, while also leading the charge.
“I must also commend the courage of Mallam Nasir el-Rufai for his bold step, including all others who have signed up for this efforts.,” Onyia said.
He remarked further “it is up to the coalition to identify who has the character, network, vast acceptability and the capacity to defeat Tinubu. This is not the time for ego and selfishness,” saying that the repeat of the success achieved by a coalition in the 2015 general election is possible, “where the coalition picked the best candidate to fly its flag in the presidential election against President Goodluck Jonathan.”
He lampooned the current federal government, saying that it has no clue about what running a federal government entails saying: “apart from the fact that the Tinubu-led Federal Government is clueless, many Nigerians are disappointed, and the government has lost the trust and confidence of the populace even in the South-west region.”
