Pope Defrocks Rwandan Priest For Having A Son
Priest axed for fathering a son.

Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis, has sacked a 64-year-old clergyman of Rwandan descent, Wenceslas Munyeshyaka.
The clergy, who has been serving in northern France for about three decades, was hammered for allegedly fathering a son.
The development, contained in a communique issued by the Bishop of Evreux, has also been confirmed by the office of the Bishop of the city.
According to the communique, Munyeshyaka has been excluded from acting as a priest anywhere else, meaning that he has lost all clerical rights following the decision of a Papal Decree issued in March.
Besides the confirmed allegation that he fathered a 10 year-old son, the embattled priest, who fled to France following the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, was also accused of taking part in the killing of hundreds of Tutsis who took refuge in his Kigali church during the genocide. He was however, set free from the genocide accusation for lack of evidence.
In 2021, his Diocese suspended him after he admitted legally fathering a son.
