Prince Harry To Give Evidence In Court, First Senior British Royal In A Century
Accuses MGN of hacking his phone

Pursuant to his lawsuit against a newspaper for unlawfully tapping his phone, Prince Harry is expected to appear in court next week.
His appearance in court is the first by a senior British Royals in 130 years after Edward VII testified as a witness in part of a divorce proceeding first in 1870 and again in 1890 over a slander trial in a card game.
However, Edward VII's double appearances were before he ascended the throne as King.
According to Reuters, Prince Harry is expected to appear as witness in London’s High Court in a case he instituted, alongside over 100 other celebrities, against the Mirror Group of Newspapers, MGN, publisher of the Daily Mirror and Sunday People.
Harry’s appearance in court is on the heels of his accusation against other senior royals for colluding with tabloid newspapers. It is likely to attract more attention.
During the trial which took off last in May, MGN is being accused of conducting phone hacking and other unlawful acts, said to be on “an industrial scale” in order to obtain information about Prince Harry and others, which their attorney, David Sgerborne, described as haven been done with the knowledge and approval of both senior editors and executives.
Meanwhile, MGN is contesting the claims, with senior editors and executive denying knowledge of hacking or any wrongdoing.
One of the editors fingered for having prior knowledge of the hacking is Piers Morgan. He has however, denied such knowledge
