We're Grateful-CP Igweh Tells Residents
*Assures of readiness to cleanes the city and environs of crimes and crimalitues.

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has expressed his gratitude and that of the command, to resident of the city over the manner they have cooperated with the command since he assumed office.
The Commissioner gave the commendation in Abuja Monday while briefing newsmen of the activities of the command in the last few days.
He enjoined them to keep cooperating with the command by availing it of more of the information it requires to rid the nation's capital of crimes, criminals and criminalities.
"Let me use this opportunity to thank residents of the FCT for the manner they have cooperated with us. I want to tell them that without their cooperation we would not have been able to do what we have done so far. However, I still want them to keep cooperation with us so that we can rid the FCT of criminal elements," he appealed.
CP Igweh, who also announced a major breakthrough in the fight against crime in the FCT, paraded several criminal suspects, including some notorious one-chance operators.
In one instance, he noted, operatives of the command, who acted on credible information, arrested two car theft suspects said to be in the command's wanted list.
The suspects, Anthony Chibuzor and Jonas Chikwe, are alleged to belong to a syndicate known to unleashing terror on FCT residents. However, they were arrested with three stolen vehicles, some of which had their chassis numbers altered.
The stolen vehicles include a Toyota Camry with Reg No. Lagos 23; an Audi A4 car with Reg No. KRD 349 JD and a Honda Accord Sports car with Reg No. BDG 42 JC.
"On 1st May, 2024, at about 3:00 PM, acting on credible intelligence, police operatives of Apo Legislative Quarters, trailed and arrested two notorious car theft suspects, Anthony Chibuzor and his friend, Jonas Chikwe both males of Lagos state who have been on the wanted list of the command and part of a notorious car theft syndicate terrorising FCT and its environs."
CP Igweh also announced the arrest of a four-man armed robbery gang namely, Hamza Ibrahim, Mubarak Abubakar, Abubakar Suleiman and Mohammed Lawal. The quartet are said to have confessed to being robbers (One-Chance dpecialists).
They were arrested after an incident during which they pushed a lady out of a moving car after disposing her of all her belongings. In the ensuing chase, the suspects abandoned their car and fled. However, information gleaned from the car later led to their arrest.
"On 7TH April, 2024, at about 10:30 PM, police operatives from Maitama Division, while on routine Patrol along Nicon Junction, heard a loud cry and swiftly mobilised to the location, where a victim of an armed robbery (one chance) incident, pushed out of a vehicle was found and dispossessed of all her belongings. In response to this, the police operative gave the hoodlums a hot chase forcing them to abandon their vehicle and took to their heels. Information recovered from the vehicle led police operatives to the arrest of four suspects..."
In addition, operatives of the command arrested another set of one-chance robbery gang operating between Lugbe and Area 1. The suspects include Peter Fateh, Esther Peter, James Ogbuh, Kabiru Buba and Kabir Abubakar.
Items recovered from them include Two Million, Two Hundred and Thirty Thousand (N2, 230,000) Naira; a black coloured Toyota Corrola with Reg No. GWA 227 BG; a Golf 3 Salon car with Reg No. KWL 200 CF; a silver coloured Toyota Camry without Reg No.; two locally made cartridge rifles; one locally made pistols; one locally made rifle; ten live Cartridges and six live ammunition.
"On 15th April, 2024, at about 9:45 AM, following a report by one Magaji Umar at Lugbe Division that on 14th April, 2024, that he boarded a vehicle from Lugbe going to Area 1 when he was suddenly attacked by the two occupants in the moving vehicle and was forcefully made to path with the sum of Two million, Two Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira removed from his account.
"Subsequent investigation led police operatives to the arrest of six suspects."
The FCT command equally paraded one suspect for housing breaking and theft. The suspect, identified as Kabiru Umar, broke into the Point of Sale, PoS, shop of his friend, Mohammed Musa, a residence of Durumi, and stole the latter's Three Hundred (N300, 000) Naira, following which a report was lodged at the Durumi division.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Umar who, upon interrogation, confessed to the crime. However, only One Hundred and Seventy Thousand (N170, 000) Naira, was recovered from him.
Overall, the command arrested twelve suspects for various crimes, recovered five vehicles, four locally made guns, and the sum of Two Million, Four Hundred Thousand (N2, 400,000) Naira.
The CP assured FCT residents that the command will deploy all resources available to ensure safety of lives and property in the nation's capital.
"I want to conclude by reassuring you that the FCT Police Command, under my leadership, will do all within our power to prevent crime and criminality in all of its forms and ensure the safety of all without fear or favour. This can be effectively achieved only with your (residents of FCT) utmost cooperation," he assured.
