Zamfara Honours Honest Pilgrim For Returning $80,000
Zamfara state governor, Dauda Lawal, has honoured Hajiya Aishatu Guru-Nahuche, one of the state's pilgrims to the recently concluded hajj, for returning $80,000 she found in Saudi Arabia to the owner.
Guru-Nahuche, from Bungudu council area of the state, found the money, totaling over N64m, to officials of her state Pilgrims Welfare Agency, who returned the money to the owner, a move the governor described as “uncommon sincerity”.
“We have seen a clear example of honesty worth emulating from Hajiya Aisha. Believe me, not everyone will find such a huge amount of money at a place where there was no one and return it.
Gov Lawal, who did not name any particular prize for Hajiya Guru-Nahuche, assured however, that the state would do the needful in her honour.
He also assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will equally honour the honest Pilgrim.
“The Zamfara State government will do the needful to help the family of Hajiya Aisha. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will also honour her for this act of honesty,” Lawal said.
