Anambra JTF Neutralizes Five Gunmen
*Razed down criminal dens, recovered guns, unexplored IED, other.

Operatives of the Anambra State Joint Security Force, JTF, on Tuesday undertook a successful operation against a suspected armed secessionist gang around Umugem road, Ufuma, Orumba North council area of the state.
The team neutralized five members of the armed group, while a number of others managed to escaped.
In addition to grazing the gang's criminal hideout, the team also recovered four undetonated improvised explosive devices, IED, two AK47 assault rifles, one pump action gun, and among others, one 75-volt battery in an operation said to be ongoing.
In a statement issued by the its spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the command explained that the success of the operation is sequel to the collaboration and coordination among the various security agencies.
Meanwhile, the state police boss, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has called for greater cooperation from the people of the state, particular those from the affected area as part of their patriotic obligations.
He said such actions are required in order to take back the space being occupied by the gunmen and deny them of any operating space in their bid to cause tension in the state.
