Anambra Police Secures 13 Year Jail Term For Two 2nd Niger Bridge Robbers
*Arraigns 33 over cult-related crimes

Anambra State Police Command said it has secured conviction for the two robbers arrested on the second Niger Bridge a few weeks ago.
The Command said this in a statement released in Awka, the state capital, by its spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu on Saturday.
According to the statement, the robbers were apprehended while robbing unsuspecting commuters. They were found with two daggers and five sim cards they removed from their victims' phones.
They are said to have pleaded guilty when arraigned in court.
Two of their victims, one of them a lawyer, were traced via the stolen sims, which were promptly returned to them. The victims assisted the police while the cases were being investigated.
Each of the convicted robbers received 5 years on the first two counts, and an additional 3 years on the third, all of which are to run concurrently.
Meanwhile, the command also said it has arraigned 33 suspects in cult-related cases. The arraignment is coming on the wake of a new crackdown ordered by the state commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye.
Arraigned in batches of batches of nine and twenty four, the suspects were charged with membership of unlawful societies; unlawful possession of firearms; Unlawful possession and use of hard drugs and other psychotropic substances.
The command also disclosed that several it has several other suspects in its custody, who are still being held in custody. It noted that the suspects are being investigated in connection to various murders committed in cult-related incidents.
