ANSAA Slams N50m Permit Fee on Anambra 2025 Anambra Governorship Election Campaign Billboard, Others

From OMAH Ngozi, Awka

As the campaign season for the 2025 Anambra governorship election kicks off, the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, has announced a mandatory permit fee of N50 million per political party.

The agency's Managing Director, Mr. Tony Odili-Ujubuonwu, made this disclosure during a press briefing in Awka.

According to Mr. Odili-Ujibuonwu, the campaign permit grants political parties the right to deploy campaign materials and activities across the state's 21 local government areas.

The permit allows parties to use various materials such as posters, public address systems, branded vehicles, banners, fliers, T-shirts, and caps, among others.

The ANSAA boss emphasized that all campaign materials intended for outdoor display must be vetted by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, before being posted.

He also appealed to political parties, their supporters, and the general public to be considerate of other users of the advertising and visual promotion space in the state.

Mr. Odili-Ujibuonwu urged parties to refrain from defacing opponents' campaign materials, stressing that such actions are unacceptable and contrary to the principles of fair democratic engagement. He appreciated all political parties for their peaceful conduct during the primary elections and expressed hope that this approach would continue into the campaign season.

The ANSAA was established by law to regulate the use of out-of-home advertising structures, control outdoor structures, and issue permits and licenses for signage and advertisements in Anambra State.
