Obasanjo's Lion Kills His Presidential Library Zoo Worker

A lion in the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library zoo, Abeokuta, Ogun state, has killed its handler, a 35 year old man from Bauchi state, identified as Babaji Daule.

The incident, confirmed Sunday by Ogun state police command, took place on Saturday while the handler was attempting to feed the feral cat.

Daule was reportedly mauled to death by the lion when he entered the cage but forgot to secure the locks and barricade the lion’s enclosure.

Daule's mistake, the report added, allowed the lion to corner and attack him resulting in severe injuries to his neck.

The lion was shot to secure the release of the victim from its firm grip on the hapless handler who later died from injuries he sustained from the attack.

His remains has been deposited at the Ijaye General Hospital.
