We'll Clean FCT of Criminals, Police Boss Vows
"Parades tens of crime suspects.

Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Benneth Igweh, has vowed to cleanes the nation's political capital of criminal elements making life difficult for residents.
The Commissioner made the pledge Thursday while parading tens of suspects alleged to be involved in breaking into homes and removing properties while owners are away at work.
"We went on a 2-day operation because of complaints received from members of the public about the activities of the criminal group that stamp themselves with the name 'Babambola'.
"So far, we have arrested many of them. Some of them are here. About 300 of them are already in prison.
"We want to clean the city," the commissioner vowed, adding that "we have seen that some of them may disguise as 'Babambolas' or pickers. They end up robbing the houses or vicinity where they have gone. When you leave your house, before you come in, a lot of your things are missing."
The CP disclosed that command operatives recovered several stolen items, including generators and other stolen household materials from the suspects.
Among other dangerous weapons recovered from the suspects are guns, machetes, daggers, cudgels, hammers and a number of house breaking equipment.
"We recovered generators from them. You can see their weapons. We also recovered two guns from some of the 'Babambolas'.
"They are not ordinary. Many of them are not Nigerians. However, we are going to do everything we can to ensure the safety of every household in the FCT," the commissioner promised.
Many of the paraded suspects, mainly made up of itinerary cart pushers, confessed to the crime. However, a few denied any involvement, claiming that the police randomly rounded them up for today's parade.
