Anambra Police Arrest A Suspected Deviant Security Operative

Following calls by Anambra Police Boss, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, to profile members of the state vigilante group in line with the objectives of Community Policing Principles, operatives of the command on Saturday apprehended a member of the security outfit. 

The suspect, Enediong Bassey, a native of Ikono council area, Akwa Ibom state, was arrested with a Pump Action rifle which he hid inside a bag of rice.

While being interrogated, Enediong reportedly confirmed that he is a member of the security outfit/vigilante and was in the process of escaping with the gun to join his criminal gang with a view to carrying out armed robbery and other criminal activities.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Anti-robbery squad for further investigations
