Anambra Police Nab Two Secessionists

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command on Thursday, recorded another breakthrough in the quest to rid the state of crime and criminalities.

The development is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday by command spokesman, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu. 

The statement noted that leveraging on the operational modus of the new Commissioner, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, the operatives laid in wait for the suspects along the Port Harcourt Road, Fegge, Onitsha, where they intercepted a Shuttle Bus inside which were found two two 50KG bags, each containing four cartons of one hundred and seventy pieces live cartridges. 

The statement noted further that convener of the items took to his heels on sighting the Police. However, the driver of the bus was arrested and is currently undergoing interrogation to guide the investigation. 

Meanwhile, operatives of the command also on Thursday nabbed one Kingsley Orji along Creek Road, Fegge. The said Orji, a native of Okwudo village, Mgbidi, Imo State, was arrested with a stolen Lexus RX350 with Reg nos: YAB 912 HR, reported to have been snatched at gunpoint by six armed men along Love Line assembly, Imo State.

The suspect was said to have confessed to the crime and has made useful information that is assisting the police in apprehending other gang members.

While responding to the breakthrough, CP Itam charged the operatives to keep up with the onslaught against criminal activities, aimed at denying criminal elements of the space they hitherto enjoy in the state. He assured residents of the state that the command is committed to guiding every information with utmost confidentiality and will, without any doubt, act on same.
